Adult lessons at Colorado's Alpine Piano Lessons are fun! Adults come to lessons with varying musical backrounds, different expectations, and are very sure about the type of music they want to play. An adult might be a total beginner, while another adult may have studied music for 12 years as a child. Every effort is made to accomadate the unique needs of each student.

Students that come as total beginners learn to read the left and right hands, all the chords, fluent sight-reading, and creative improvisation. Every effort is made to accompish these goals using the style of music the student wishes to study, allowing the student to pursue the music of their dreams. This music may include popular, classical, boogie and blues, rock 'n roll, sacred, jazz standards, or creative improvisation. All this is accomplished in a fun, positive, supportive environment.

Students that come with previous musical experience and specific goals in mind, are ready to work in the style of music they prefer, whether it be popular, classical, boogie and blues, rock 'n roll, sacred, or jazz standards. They are also exposed to learning all the chords, fluent sight-reading, and creative improvisation. Again, this is all accompished in a fun, positive, supportive environment.

Colorado's Alpine Piano Lessons adults students are given the opportunity to participate in 2 recitals a year. One is in early fall, the other in late spring. Recitals are given in my studio in Lakewood, Colorado. Participation is not mandatory. I strive to provide an informal, supportive, fun environment. Students come with varying levels of experience. This allows the beginners to become inspired by the more advanced students. It also provides participating adults the opportunity to support each other, and gives them the encouraging knowledege they are not the only adult taking piano lessons!
